I, Janet Lam, am a jack of all trades, but a master at none. I would call myself a little, lost Lam(b) and at the age of 22, I am still trying to find my identity or my brand. I love music, but I am no musician. I love participating in physical activities but I am no athlete. I love food but I am no iron chef, although I do love to eat. One thing is for sure, I am obsessed with dogs and the TV show, Golden Girls. Those 4 women Blanche, Rose, Sophia and Dorothy are my role models and I aspire to be the perfect hybrid of all 4 women. 22 is still young and there are plenty of milestones I must go through before I can become a sheep.
The idea of having a 9-5 job has never sat right with me. Radio broadcasting felt like the right choice as a career as it didn’t feel like a job but a lifestyle because it required passion and dedication but it always allowed me to be active, meet a variety of people and discover a diverse library of music. It also solely relies on quality. There are not visual enhancements that will attract people in radio, only great quality content.
Follow me on my journey to find this Lam(b)’s identity and have it branded. To achieve this goal, I have decided to go to events all around the GTA ranging from concerts, comedy shows, local events and trying new activities. The journey will not all be achieved by trying new things, but extending off current things I enjoy now like reading poetry. . I highly recommend poets like Lang Leav and Rupi Kaur for those interested in sinking their teeth into some tasty literature.
